Hey everyone! Hope that you are all well.
I've been pretty busy lately with commissions that I'm working on for a company called Knights Errant Games on a game called
Heroes' Tears. I can't release them just yet, but they've been fun and challenging so far!
So that's one reason that my submissions have slowed a bit lately. But rest assured that I'll release them here when I can - probably all in a torrent.
I've got a new
video tutorial up, and it's a pretty long one this time. Covering several topics, all of which were relevant in my 'Holy Diver' illustration -- which is what it follows along with in the painting process.
I'm thinking seriously about making these longer ones (and possibly even longer and even more in depth, it will depend on the subjects covered) and putting them up on Patreon or Gumroad. I would continue to make short, free versions for YouTube, but also make longer, more in depth ones for Gumroad or Patreon.
However, it seems like everyone and their mother have a Patreon account, and I don't want to do it and just have it sit there. So I'm looking for some feedback.
Would people be interested in longer tutorials like this for a few bucks, to help cover the amount of time it takes to make them?
It just seems like such a great time to put out tutorials, since I'm going through and doing all these studies to become a better artist myself. I'm taking the information being given artists much greater than I, as I learn it, and passing it on to you guys. Then we're effectively all going through these studies together.
But I also know there's a lot of tutorials out there and accomplished people making them. So I've no idea if there's a demand for me to do so. Maybe I'll start on Gumroad and see where that takes me.
Brainstorm with me, I'd love to hear what you all think!
Getting ready to go on a Greek cruise for my 15th wedding anniversary next week. Can't wait... it'll be my first cruise.
Hope everyone has a great day!
